The 2019 novel Coronavirus ("COVID-19" or "Coronavirus") is a virus that is closely related to the SARS and MERS viruses that have caused outbreaks in the past. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, runny nose, cough and trouble breathing. Most people develop only mild symptoms. But some, usually people with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia, which can be fatal. The incubation period for COVID-19 varies between 2 and 14 days.
The virus that causes COVID-19 most commonly spreads between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet, or 2 arm lengths). It spreads through respiratory droplets or small particles, such as those in aerosols, produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, sings, talks, or breathes.
Wear masks in public settings when around people not living in your household and particularly where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. For more prevention guidelines, visit How to Protect Yourself & Others on the CDC website.

How insurance coverage responds to COVID-19 related losses may vary. As with any loss, the availability of coverage will depend on the factual details surrounding the loss event, the specific policy language, and applicable law of the jurisdiction.
We strongly recommend notifying insurance carriers, if you’ve incurred a loss. Do not attempt to determine coverage on your own or assume your coverage will not apply.
