The “Great Big Kids” have been selected because of their exemplary leadership and commitment to youth education in the Michiana community. Each Great Big Kid is paired with a Youth of the Year or Junior Youth of the Year candidate. The theme this year for the Greatest Kids event is “Where Heroes Meet.” Our “young heroes” or Club Members have displayed hero-like qualities and continue to make great strides toward a bright future. The Youth of the Year program and Greatest Kids Initiative is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of these young aspiring heroes.

Tim Leman, CEO of Gibson, is paired with Junior Youth of the Year candidate Miguel Romo to form Team Blue. Miguel is a fourth grader at Wilson Primary School in South Bend.

The event will feature a basketball game between Tim Leman’s Team Blue and local Edward Jones advisors, as well as halftime contests, face painting, balloon artists, and food – all to support great futures for Michiana kids.

The National Anthem will be performed by the Wilson Primary BGCSJC Site Sign Choir and Veronica McCray, a BGCSJC staff member. Tip off will be conducted by a celebrity guest.

The event will be held at the Boys & Girls Club (502 E Sample Street) in South Bend, Indiana at 6:30pm. Admission is free. Donations welcome. Learn more about Team Blue at www.greatestkids.org/teamblue.
