July 13, 2023, Kalamazoo, Chicago, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Phoenix, and Tucson: Gibson announces the appointment of two members to the Michigan Marketplace Board of Advisors (MBOA). Joining are Charlie Burnham and Jim Stephanak.
Burnham is a Michigan (and national) insurance legend who helped build a Top 100 agency (Burnham Insurance Group) located in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo, Michigan area. After selling the agency to HUB, Charlie went on to work closely on M&A and leadership development throughout the organization.
Apart from serving on Gibson's Michigan Marketplace Board of Advisors (MI MBOA), Charlie’s civic and charitable affiliations include The Burnham Family Foundation. He is also a current board member for EG Workforce Solutions.
Stephanak brings a wide range of experience to the board spanning newspaper publishing, healthcare, and financial coaching. Currently, he is the President and Founder of Venture Advisory Group located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In addition to serving on Gibson's Michigan Marketplace Board of Advisors (MI MBOA), Jim currently serves as board member for Heritage Community Foundation and Veteran’s support group at the Portage Community Center, independent board member for a specialty pharmacy provider, and pro-bono executive advisor for both startups and non-profits in Southwest Michigan. From 2018-2021, he was the co-chair of the Portage Community Senior Center capital campaign, successfully raising $10M for the center’s construction.
