How An ESOP Drives Culture

Oct 24, 2018 6:30:00 AM

ESOP - BlogAt Gibson, we hold our culture near and dear to our heart. It’s one of the most important aspects of our work environment. We care about it and work on it constantly. It’s also something we look for in prospective teammates – will they be a good cultural fit? We are focused on having the right people onto the Gibson bus and in the right seat.

For us, we have found the right culture helps us:

  • Consistently deliver the Gibson Client Experience, a client-focused approach, and attitude that seeks to exceed the expectations of those we serve
  • Create and maintain a workplace that is challenging but fun for our professionals
  • Drive growth in our business

So what does our GESOP (Gibson ESOP) have to do with our culture? Everything!

Since implementing the GESOP at the end of 2010, our culture has continued to improve. The GESOP has reinvigorated our company because our teammates are engaged. There is a sense of pride permeating our company – because it’s OUR company! We have a vision of where we’re headed in the future. All our clients are served by an owner and everyone on the team cares about our business. There’s great collaboration every day in our ranks. Our growth since 2010 has been exceptional compared to our peers.

It's no coincidence that sharing employee ownership through our GESOP has been THE galvanizing event that has driven our culture to a wonderful place. Our GESOP is still fairly new, and we continue to see the passion for employee ownership. As we move forward, we’re going to continue to get even better as owners and especially as an organization. Have you considered an ESOP for your company?
